About CFA Program
CFA® Charter is a professional credential offered by CFA Institute to Investment and Financial professionals. CFA® exam consists of three Levels I, II & III and takes approximately 2 years (at a minimum) to complete. The average times taken is approx. 3-4 years. To earn a CFA Charter, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline, 4000 hours of acceptable professional work experience and passed the Level I, Level II, and Level III exams.

It is the first of three exams in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program, focusing on basic finance concepts, investment tools, ethical standards, and financial reporting fundamentals.
The Level I exam consists of 180 multiple-choice questions, split into two sessions (90 questions each). Total test time is 4 hours 30 minutes with an optional break between sessions.
No — the CFA Level I exam does not penalize incorrect answers, so it’s in your interest to attempt every question.
